Interactive multi touch table
An innovative multi touch solution for the viewing of designing albums of the Sala Studio, at the MAXXI Archive Center of Architecture

 Using the multitouch software, Touchwindow ® developed a powerful interactive application to view designing albums of the Sala Studio of the MAXXI Archive Center of Architecture - Archive of Pier Luigi Nervi. This interactive stand allows the museum visitors to search for documents and review the digital files in details.

The MAXXI fondation provides a wide catalog of high resolution digitized documents usng the multi touch interactive table. Performing simple gestures and thanks to the multi touch technology is now possible to browse albums just as real books, zoom the images in, view details of works and drawings.

The multi touch system recognizes the touch of more fingers at the same time, up to 32, allowing natural movements and gestures to move objects, magnify or manipulate different objects.

Using the set up files, the different parameters can be modified in order to chose the desired document layout, increase quality, manage the image zoom or rotation.

The large amount of documents - acquired by the MAXXI Museum in 2004 - testifies the professional work of Pier Luigi Nervi from 1920 to 1980, showing his designing works and of his studio, the technological tests on reinforced concrete structures in Italy and in foreign countries, his scientific and didactic skills and the relationship with other leading representatives of the architectural, cultural and business fields during the twentieth century.
