The DAMA Technopole, or Technopole Data Manufacturing Emilia-Romagna, is a centre of excellence for technological innovation in the heart of the city: a real hub within the Emilia-Romagna Data Valley, created to support businesses of all sizes in developing new products and in the digital transformation process.
Touchwindow has created a turnkey hardware, audio and video infrastructure inside the Botti B4 building, designed to host flexible and collaborative workspaces.
DAMA is located at the former Tobacco Factory (Manifattura Tabacchi) in Bologna, covering an area of over 140,000 m² of significant architectural value. Inside one of the arched buildings that make up the complex, named Botti B4, Touchwindow has designed a technological installation characterised by high flexibility and intended for multiple uses.
The goal was to create reconfigurable spaces to host different types of events, with areas dedicated to work, exhibitions, and conferences, with a particular focus on demonstrating emerging technologies in line with the mission of the Technopole.
The Botti B4 Building hosts offices, reception areas, meeting rooms, and conference halls used by Technopole stakeholders. To meet different needs, the design focused on two main objectives:
Meeting rooms, welcome areas, event spaces, and auditoriums make up a multifunctional environment designed to encourage collaboration and sharing.
The Botti B4 workspaces have been designed as integrated digital ecosystems, suitable for both in-person and remote collaboration.
The meeting rooms (Huddle Room and Medium Meeting Room) are equipped with:
The representative areas have been equipped with large-format displays up to 98”, OverIP audio-video distribution systems, PTZ cameras, microphone systems, and sound systems.
For the Auditorium, a centralised audio-video control room has been created, capable of managing complex events with minimal resources, also serving as a control centre for unified room management in room-combining mode.
Touchwindow has designed the entire networking system and special cabling to support the technological infrastructure. The ecosystem is certified to ensure 24/7 operational continuity with no data loss.
The technical staff at Technopole has been trained to guarantee first-level management autonomy, while Touchwindow provides on-site support with certified technicians for critical situations and proper vendor escalation processes.
