In the beautiful Piazzetta di Expo Milano, the Emilia-Romagna region created a special interactive installation to familiarize visitors from all over the world with the region’s extraordinary food products, as well as its tourist attractions, historical sites, and industrial strengths.
The Touch Wall, a four by two meter touchscreen display viewed over 300,000 times during the Expo period from August to October 2015, will now be exhibited in the lobby of Bologna’s High Speed train station, where thousands of Italians and foreigners pass through each day, and, by consulting the information available on the touchscreen, will be able to familiarize themselves with the local territory and the regional products, thereby transforming themselves into potential tourists, visitors and consumers.
A special mosaic 2.0 created by the Reggio Emilia company Kaiti Expansion, made up of over 300 icons arranged over a colorful map of the region, will allow each traveler at the train station to take a virtual journey dedicated to discovering the culture, the landscape, the agriculture, the food and wine, and all the other extraordinary products and traditions of the Emilia-Romagna region. Travelers will thus have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the cities, the monuments, the noteworthy figures, the local environmental characteristics, and the agricultural and industrial products made in Emilia-Romagna. Screens containing details about the individual points of interest, include texts, images and videos, will be available in both Italian and English. In addition to general information regarding the quality and cultivation techniques associated with the various products, and their historical and culinary characteristics, further insights are also available linking to events, initiatives and places of interest throughout the territory.
The Touch Wall is thus an extraordinary and highly flexible communication tool that can be upgraded in real time and allows the local area to be promoted through a contemporary and engaging system, thereby inviting the travelers of today and tomorrow to better familiarize themselves with the Region.
